Marian Bocek
Marian is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at IPM. He decided to establish IPM in 2014 as a specialist asset management firm investing at the cross-section of the infrastructure real asset and technology worlds (in energy, mobility, and AI-enabled critical infrastructure). IPM has currently over USD1bn in assets under management.
Marian is also a Co-Founder and Executive Chairman at InoBat, an R&D and battery production company with the long-term objective of serving the European market with new energy solutions.
Marian has over fifteen years of global banking and investing experience, having over US$10bn in private equity and investment banking transactions in the United States, Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Marian‘s track record includes successful investments across the entire asset lifecycle (from seed to M&A stage) with cross-border (e.g., Silicon Valley to CEE) technology transfer element.
Marian began his career at Lehman Brothers’ Global M&A/Investment Banking team in New York, which was taken over by Barclays Capital in 2008.
Prior to co-founding IPM, Marian was a director of InfraMed Infrastructure, one of the largest emerging market private equity infrastructure funds with EUR385m in AUM backed by the leading investors such as European Investment Bank, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations of France, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti of Italy, and EFG Hermes, the largest investment bank in the Middle East.
Before InfraMed, Marian executed principal transactions in oil and gas, mining, and infrastructure across global emerging markets for a London-based emerging market multi-strategy hedge fund, Nubuke Investments, and also with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the investment arm of the World Bank in Washington, DC and Istanbul.
Marian holds an MSc in Finance from the University of Cambridge in the UK and a BA in Economics from Oberlin College in the United States. Marian frequently returns to the University of Cambridge as a lecturer and event panellist on investments in private equity, clean tech and renewable energy.
